Learning how to train your dog on come is perhaps the most important skill you need as a dog owner. Why is this order so important? just think for a moment.
- There is a kind of danger (approaching cars or others).
- You order "Come".
- Your dog obeys. All is well.
- Your dog does not notice. In the worst case (a) your pet is dead. (B) He is not hurt so badly. (c) At best, that's fine, but it's about to be an accident.
Once you have taught your puppy to "come," you can place it anywhere, anytime you need it. In the future, it is important to protect him from dangerous situations. This command is very powerful and therefore requires more time than "sitting down" and "going to bed" to master it completely.
But once your puppy knows how to do it, you'll see the value of the order and be satisfied with the time you spend. You will find that your dog is more obedient than his children! Certainly it is important that you receive an immediate response when ordering. You should simply let your dog answer as soon as you place the order.
They absolutely do not want it to be used to listening five or six times and then losing themselves when they feel like it. Regardless of what they like or how far apart they are, they should stop and speak directly with you.
Why is it so difficult to obey this mandate?
As with all of us, it is extremely difficult to stop something that interests you and to respond to another request (for example from your spouse!). The difficulty is related to several factors:
1. You may not have trained your puppy for this answer before he was a little older. So you already have a habit of not answering, but you just ignore yourself.
2. Your puppy may not know what "coming" means.
3. You may be involved in the natural behavior of a dog, such as chasing a cat or stalking when you say it happens.
4. Maybe you have adopted your dog from a shelter. The previous owner may have learned the next order, but then imposed a penalty.
You look at dog owners. Very often they give the order to come, but if the dog obeys, they punish him with "bad dog" and could even start beating him. It is possible that they have punished him for an earlier act, but the dog only knows that he is beaten for coming.
This leads to the first absolute rule of dog training: Never discipline the dog with physical force. There are many more humane and humane ways to blame your puppy and improve its behavior rather than beat it.
Here are three steps to teaching your dog.
Step 1: Take the initiative and congratulate your puppy on every arrival. Of course, a puppy is running towards you. So set up the club to visit you and receive compliments. This is an essential first step.
Step 2: When he begins to reach you alone, begin to observe when he begins to approach you. When he approaches you, say "come" (and of course congratulate him when he reaches you).
Step 3: Start the mapping between the act and the command. Crouch and say "(name of the dog), come on". Organize one of your favorite toys or treats if you need an extra incentive to visit.
These are just a few strategies. Another four steps on how to help your puppy master this absolutely important sequence (and all aspects of puppy training) are on my website below.
